1.What Tiketza is
Tiketza is a booking platform. We list the departures that bus agencies schedule, take your payment, and issue you a ticket. We do not operate buses.
That distinction matters. When you buy a ticket, the contract to carry you is between you and the agency whose bus you board. Tiketza's contract with you is to sell you that ticket accurately, take payment securely, and deliver proof of it. Departure times, the state of the bus, the conduct of its crew, delays, breakdowns and route changes are the agency's responsibility.
These terms are governed by the laws of Cameroon. Using Tiketza means accepting them.
2.Your account
You need to be 18 or over to hold an account. Keep your login to yourself: anything done from your account is treated as done by you. Tell us at once if you think someone else has access.
Give us details that are true. A passenger name or identity number that does not match the traveller can mean being refused at boarding, and that is not a refundable fault of ours.
We may suspend an account that is being used fraudulently, that abuses the platform, or that is harming other travellers or agencies.
3.Booking a seat
- Prices are set by the agency, not by us. The fare shown is the fare charged; any Tiketza service fee is shown before you pay.
- A seat you choose is held for ten minutes while you pay. If payment does not complete in that time, the seat goes back on sale.
- A booking is confirmed when payment succeeds, not when you start it. Your ticket and its QR code arrive in the app, and on WhatsApp where we have your number.
- Fill & go trips leave when they fill. You are buying a seat on the next bus to depart on that route, not a fixed departure time.
- Open return tickets have no date until you choose one. A seat is only reserved on the return bus once that date is set.
- Be at the station in good time. Agencies generally ask for 30 to 60 minutes before departure, and a bus that has left is not a refund.
4.Paying
You can pay by Mobile Money, bank card, cash at an agency counter, or from your Tiketza membership balance. Card and Mobile Money payments are handled by Stripe and CinetPay; we never see or store your card number.
Every amount is calculated on our servers. If a price displayed on your phone disagrees with the price the server calculates, the server's figure is the one that stands, and you will see it before you confirm.
Where a membership balance does not cover the full fare, the balance is applied and the remainder is collected by your chosen method. We work out that split; you are never asked to.
5.Changes, cancellations and refunds
Refunds are the agency's decision, not ours.
Each agency sets its own cancellation and refund policy, and they differ. Tiketza processes a refund once the agency approves it. We cannot approve one on their behalf, and we will not promise you one we are not able to give.
- Transfers between buses can be made up to 30 minutes before departure. After that the manifest is with the driver and the seat cannot be moved.
- If the agency cancels the trip, you are entitled to a refund or a seat on another departure. Ask the agency, or contact us and we will pursue it with them.
- If you simply do not travel, whether a refund is due is entirely the agency's policy.
- A Tiketza service fee, where one was charged, covers work already done and is not refunded.
6.The Tiketza membership and card
- Enrolling gives you a member code that identifies you at counters and at boarding. Treat it like a ticket and do not share it.
- A physical NFC card can be ordered at any time. It is written onto the membership you already have, so your balance, points and trips are on it from the first tap. A card fee may apply.
- Your balance is prepaid credit for travel. It is not a bank account and it is not redeemable for cash, other than by withdrawal at an agency counter where the agency permits it.
- Points are earned on trips travelled and set your tier. Points have no cash value and we may change how they are earned, with notice.
- A lost card should be blocked from the app immediately. Until it is blocked, taps made with it may be treated as yours.
7.For bus agencies
An agency applies through the platform and cannot sell until Tiketza has reviewed and approved the account. Approval can be withheld or withdrawn.
- You are responsible for the accuracy of your departures, prices, seat maps and branch details, and for actually running the services you list.
- You are responsible for the conduct of your staff on the platform, including the cashiers and agents you give access to.
- Passenger data reaching you through Tiketza is to be used for carrying those passengers and for your legal records — not for anything else, and not to be sold on.
- Commission and payout terms are agreed separately. Payouts are made on the schedule in that agreement.
- You set your own refund policy and you honour it.
8.What we are and are not responsible for
We are responsible for the platform doing what it says: selling you the seat you chose, charging the amount shown, and issuing a valid ticket. If we get that wrong, tell us and we will put it right.
We are not responsible for the journey itself — delays, breakdowns, road conditions, cancellations, lost luggage, or anything that happens on board. Those belong to the agency carrying you.
We aim to keep Tiketza available at all times but cannot guarantee it. Where the platform is unavailable, agency counters continue to sell.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
9.Closing your account
You can close your account in the app, or request it here. Two things must be settled first, both for your benefit: any money still on your membership card, and any ticket you have paid for but not yet travelled.
Closing an account removes your personal details. It does not erase past bookings and payments, which the agency is required to keep — see the Privacy Policy.
10.Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Where a change materially affects you, we will say so in the app before it takes effect. Tickets already bought are governed by the terms in force when you bought them.
